Sam Neill

Sir Nigel John Dermot "Sam" Neill (14 September 1947 – 13 July 2026) was a New Zealand actor. Known as a leading man in film and television, he received nominations for three Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1991 Queen's Birthday Honours for services as an actor. Born in Northern Ireland to an English mother and a New Zealand father, Neill moved to Christchurch with his family in 1954.
